"The mountains are calling and I must go." - John Muir
Recently I've caught the hiking itch and have tried to take advantage of some of the few free days I've had to go up north and enjoy being outdoors and the fresh air. Exercising with a view and being out in nature is one of the best things, especially shared with friends and family. There's something rejuvenating and inspiring about being out there. It's a way to refresh and step back when life gets a little crazy. It's a way to put everything into perspective and remember what is important. Sometimes it's nice to get off the grid a little without any cell service and partake in some real conversation, and sometimes it's nice to sit in silence, only hearing the wind whistle through tree branches.
I'm hoping to get a few more longer hikes in before winter, and especially to see the brilliant foliage we New Englanders are blessed with in the Fall. I encourage others to do the same as there are so many wonderful hikes!
The hikes featured in these photos are Mt. Willard, Lonesome Lake, and Mt. Osceola.
